Christchurch > Dining > Inner City Restaurants > The Tap RoomReviewSituated along the strip in Christchurch, The Tap Room offers great food in a sophisticated setting. The layout and interior of The Tap Room is quite elegant but the general feel is of a more relaxed atmosphere with fairly loud (although never obtrusive) music. The service is excellent with friendly, punctual staff that won’t make you wait around or seek help before letting you order. The menu has a wide selection of meals on offer with an especially nice collection of seafood dishes. The stone grill comes recommended, for the uninitiated a stone grill meal involves your food arriving at your table uncooked and sitting on a very hot rock. You can cook the food to your liking and it serves as a nice change and is quite a fun experience. The meals come out fast and hot (especially if you get the stone grill); service is definitely one of The Tap Rooms strong points. If you’ve got room after your meal the desserts also go down very nicely. Just a stones throw from the Bridge of Remembrance, The Tap Room is a top notch Christchurch restaurant which although a little pricey, offers some great food with excellent service.
