The World Buskers Festival is one of the biggest and best events that hits Christchurch every year. Packed with top local and international acts, you will be left rolling around with laughter as well as genuinely amazed by some of the mind-blowing performances of acrobatics, concentration and balance. The performers have obviously put years of practice into their routines and it shows, the Christchurch World Buskers Festival is one of, if not the biggest festival of its kind and performers have to impress to be invited along.

With stages set up all over Christchurch and plenty of events around the city centre and nearby streets you don't have to go far to catch up with the action. There's comedy nights, performances at New Brighton, evenings of entertainment at the Arts Centre quad, acrobatics at Victoria Square and much more. Check the guides and head along to all your favourite acts, the Blackstreet boys are always popular and Australia's Space Cowboy has also been a hit in the past.

The best thing about this event is that you decide how much to pay, if the acts stink then keep your wallet in your pocket, if you enjoy them however then let them know with a donation. This system means the performers really have to work for their money but it also doesn't stop anyone from coming along who might not have been able to afford it otherwise. The World Buskers Festival is a huge event that can't come more highly recommended, head along if you like the idea of being amused, amazed and entertained.

Venues are located all over Christchurch and include Victoria Square, New Brighton, Sumner, the Arts Centre, Cathedral Square, various inner city streets and more.

There are a huge range of circus, street and stage performances from buskers all over the world including countries such as Australia, Japan, USA, Canada, Germany, England and New Zealand.
