Willowbank Wildlife ReserveOne of Christchurch's most unique and popular attractions, the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is home to a large number of rare and endangered New Zealand species. Set in a natural enclosure, visitors get the opportunity to get up close and personal with these amazing creatures, including the iconic Kiwi.

The Willowbank experience includes learning about the geology of New Zealand, the arrival of colonists and the important role that natural history has played in shaping New Zealand as it is stands today.

Willowbank is also home to a wonderful restaurant where lunch and dinner are served daily.

You'll find a large range of species at Willowbank, including:

  • Fallow Deer, Ostrich, Emu, Wallaby, Capuchin Monkeys, Red Eared Turtles, Parrots, Ring tailed Lemurs, Saimangs, Kune kune pigs, various sheep breeds, Clydesdale, many poultry breeds, Llama, goats, Miniature Horses, Cattle, Rabbits, Auckland Is Pigs, Brown & Rainbow Trout, Salmon, Paradise Duck, Keas, Brown Teal, Short Finned Eels, Tuatara, Otago Skinks, Duvacel Gecko, North Island Brown Kiwi, Blue Duck, Moorpork, Antipodean Island Parakeet.
