The Arts Centre
Established in 1877 as Canterbury College, the Arts Centre is one of Christchurch's most significant heritage sites. Following extensive restoration it has become a truly vibrant area, buzzing with activities including markets, events, shopping, dining, galleries, theatre and arts.
The Arts Centre Market operates every Saturday and Sunday and offers a wide range of local arts and craft products as well as musicians, buskers and plenty of eating options.
From performances at the Court Theatre to the annual Buskers festival there's always something on for visitors to enjoy. The Arts Centre is a unique attraction and one of the most important cultural venues in Christchurch, one that shouldn't be missed by any visitor.
