Famous for its art deco style and beautiful sunshine, Napier is found in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand's North Island.
After a disastrous earthquake in 1931, the city was rebuilt in the art deco style of the time, this is now one of Napier's most popular features with many of the buildings frequently photographed.
Napier is just 10 kilometres from Hastings, the other major city in the Hawkes Bay region. Along with Hastings, Napier focuses strongly in the export sector with local products such as apples, stone fruit, wine and wool going through the busy port. Visitors to Napier will local aquarium, museum, art gallery and warm weather.
